We approached Angus in August after being referred to him through a friend. In our initial meeting Angus listened to our ideas for opening up our kitchen and living areas as well as extending the house to accommodate a large deck.
Our existing kitchen was proving difficult to plan around due to the number of doorways leading into the room. We were also under a tight deadline due to the expected birth of our second child.
We were impressed with Angus as he prioritised his concept drawings and reported back to us promptly. It was evident from these drawings that Angus had incorporated our ideas along with some innovative solutions for achieving a contemporary style which was pleasing to us.
Throughout the design process Angus remained very approachable and maintained a high level of contact with us. He was careful to explain the pros and cons of available design options whilst remaining mindful of our renovation budget.

In May I approached Angus to prepare architectural documentation for a house extension and new garage.
Our instructions to Angus was view, advise and design the extension up to Council acceptance. Our brief included our requirements for both the kitchen/family room and garage/workshop with an emphasis of the design being compatible with the existing house.
Because of the existing house design the plans were complex due to having to comply with the various building code requirements. Our builder appreciated the detailing of both plans and specifications which allowed him to complete his work to programme.
On completion approval of our Code of Compliance was achieved without any remedial work.
Angus from start to finish of our project was both professional and amenable and we were completely satisfied with his performance.

We worked with Angus on a project involving major additions and alterations. During the project the owners and their two young sons continued to live in the home.

Merriwa Kindergarten engaged Urban Projects Architecture Ltd and DM Urban Builders to design and build our new office area, as well as remodelling aspects of the original kindergarten building.
Angus McDonald came up with great suggestions to enhance and improve our ideas, and kept within budget which was essential for a not-for-profit organisation such as ours. We had no idea where to start when we were planning our renovations. We had fairly specific ideas when it came to the redesign of our house which included the use of second hand materials. Angus was able to put our ideas - some of which we thought were utterly unrealistic - to paper, as well as fine tuning the redesign with creative design elements such as repurposing our original pressed metal ceiling and incorporating special antique windows and a full second hand kitchen.
When we found out that we were expecting a baby, Angus along with his builder brother, worked to our deadlines and helped us with a few extra ideas to make our home more 'child-friendly'.
We wouldn't have our unique home without Angus' design. Angus became a family member during our renos and even though we were expecting a baby along with renovating during the heat of summer (with a portaloo), we never felt stressed or overwhelmed as we knew we were in good hands.
